Gordon Brown Will Win The UK Election

If I were Rupert Murdoch...I'd be in trouble.

Some of our Greek readers will no doubt be considering my response many months ago when I was approached to participate in some Greek projects. I answered that I said that there was going to be a large political upheaval in Greece and the stakeholders would not be there. I would reconsider after the election. Surprised?

Some think Gordon is in trouble. I think the reverse is true. Newspapers which try to overtly influence politics are going to find themselves in very deep water.

Will it be the last gasp of the dinosaur newspaper magnates trying to influence politics for their own gain?

I don't want to warn of the strategy that will see Gordon back next year but there is one and it will succeed (if he follows it).

I do not have a vote in the UK elections and no matter who I would personally choose to vote for the above statement is still true.

Dean,

Care to indulge in sharing the possible strategy?

For a short time, it looked possible that Labour might offer the lot to the LibDems in order to secure a majority and prevent a theoretical requirement to stand down.  But, thanks to Nick Clegg (LibDem), that possibility was completely scotched (it was too much of a stretch) and he was forced first to offer to stand down in 5 months time, and then to concede that a Tory/LibDem coalition beat his weak hand.

Personally, the coalition looks good. I like the idea of Clegg being deputy PM.  Certainly less strange(and strained) than Prescott backing Blair.
