SunGard operations unaffected: three staff missing

SunGard has confirmed that its data centres and network facilities were not affected by last week's terrorist attacks. However, three employees who were visiting customers in the World Trade Centre remain missing.

Cris Conde, president and chief operating officer of SunGard, says: "Our first concern is for the safety of our employees. We have been talking to their families and doing everything we can to help. We are also doing our best to help the financial community resume business swiftly and safely."

SunGard Business Continuity and Internet Services is currently supporting 22 disaster declarations and monitoring nearly 70 alerts. Its Crisis Management Team convened shortly after the first attack and continues to operate around the clock.
