AvantGo and Onyx team up for wireless CRM

AvantGo has forged an alliance with Onyx Software to deliver mobile customer relationship management (mCRM) solutions to large, field-based sales and services teams.

By combining AvantGo mobile infrastructure software and services with Onyx's XML-based platform, the two companies intend to offer a real-time, wireless solution for the growing mobile market. The integrated solution will enable an organisation's mobile professionals to manage contact information, review and update sales opportunities, access urgent service requests, and view customer history via handheld devices.

Bill Bunker, vice president of product marketing at Onyx Software, comments: "For most Fortune 1000 companies, customer management is not simply confined to centralised call centres but is instead a critical function that takes place continuously in the field."
