Buttonwood Tree Group, a business and technology consultancy focused on the financial services sector, has hired Ian Ackerley to establish and head up a new practice for the life and pensions industry.
Ackerley was most recently director of direct distribution at AMP UK Financial Services. He joined the firm as strategy director.
Prior to this he was a managing director at Sun Life International, where he was responsible for overseas activities, including sales and operations.
He also held a consultancy role at McKinsey & Company where he developed strategies for clients in the UK and Australia.
Buttonwood says there is demand for its consulting services in the life and pensions industry and it can help the performance of clients in areas such as cost management, operational improvement and distribution strategy.
