How can we interconnect the mainstreams?

 I keep myself busy in what I call mainstreams: 

1. The fundament.  General purpose interoperable identity building verifiable (more or less strong – up to the verifier to trust) credentials – creating the Trust Infrastructure urgently needed now when cyber-crime costs start topping 10 trillion USD/year and AI making it worse. 

 Top EU-priority and high in soon 100 other countries. Especially important if there are no bank-ID services to reuse like in the Nordics. But understood that this is only one of hundreds needed for life and business events – in the same ways. 

A breakthrough in EU is now the high profile drive for business wallets. Understood that without these we will not get the critical mass of credentials – and then very limited uptake and small use of wallets. 

2. Exponentially growing use of LLMs – especially at work. Hundreds of applications and services providing time saving ways to create documents, marketing material, offers, RFPs, recruitment ads, job applications etc. But not yet connected to wallets for verifiable data and legally binding transactions.

3. LLMs paving the way for employing and empowering AI-agents and AI-agentics for gradually more reasoning level tasks. 

Now widely understood that the identification and other credentials for them and by them from and to organisation and private wallets are needed to create the trust and legally binding contracts . It must be asked if identification of AI-agents should be mandatory to get a grip on fraudsters. Also combined offerings ID-wallets and AI-agents are starting to appear.

This should be a safe and controllable way to advance. No need for more EU- regulation in sight here – most likely opportunity to simplify

4. Next levels on the way to the so far undefined (not easy task as demonstrated in many books – notably Kissinger, Mundie and Smith in Genesys)  future where humans are handing over much more decisioning to AI – approaching singularity. 

Now we need to work hard on demonstrating  the big picture - interconnect the mainstreams and understand Trust Infrastructure as the fundament for everything else.
