Thomson rolls out ONE Yield system for US fixed income

Thomson Financial has announced the first release of Thomson ONE Yield, a real-time data and applications service for the US fixed income community.

This initial release includes specialist market data, news and research, decision support analytics and real-time pricing. The package features a suite of single-security calculators, incorporating option-adjusted spread analytics. Issuer, industry and benchmark yield curves will also be part of the core package. Thomson says this functionality will be supported by a fixed income security master for the US market.

Clients will have access to full real-time cash and derivatives pricing from Garban-Intercapital and GovPX. Pricing data from Cantor Fitzgerald and Tullett is also available along with full access to the Thomson IFR Markets suite of services, as well as news and analysis from Thomson Municipal Markets Data and Dow Jones Capital Markets Report.

Sophisticated portfolio functionality and a trading system - interoperable with Thomson Beta Systems and the Omgeo Settlement system - are promised for Q3 and Q4.

The firm says Thomson ONE Yield will be unique in providing a complete straight through processing solution (STP) including pre-trade, execution and back office services, within one intuitive interface. Fixed income trading and Repo systems incorporating the FIX protocol have been incroporated into the platform.

Lou Eccleston, president, banking and brokerage, Thomson Financial says the product will be rolled out to users at an "attractive price point".

He adds: "At a time when our customers are faced with the need to cut costs while increasing their ability to compete, we are committed to delivering a flexible, modular solution that is highly configurable in both workstation and browser based applications."

The release of Yield was the most significant of a raft of announcements from Thomson Financial which were timed to coincide with the Securities Industry Association technology show in New York. Other developments include the integration of the Baseline stock research system with Thomson ONE Analytics for institutional investors, integration of real-time market data and functionality to the Thomson ONE Advisor browser framework, and a series of technology solutions for Portia clients developed in partnership with Vestmark.
