Sun Microsystems announces buy-now-pay-later scheme

22 November 2002  |  801 views  |  0 Sun Microsystems announces buy-now-pay-later scheme

Sun Microsystems has launched Simply Deferred, a financing scheme for UK customers to purchase its mid-range servers now but pay later.

The scheme allows customers to defer lease payments on Sun Fire V880, 3800 and 4800 server products by three months while incurring no additional interest charges.

Sun says the initiative enables organisations to increase network capacity without impacting on current IT budgets as the first lease payment will be made in Q1 2003.

Mat Keep, server product manager, Sun Microsystems, adds: "Right now, every penny of an IT budget is being scrutinised and squeezed for maximum ROI and value. Even if there is no IT budget left, customers can still meet their capacity needs and pay for it later."

The Simply Deferred scheme is available until 31 December 2002.
