Kyberpass joins Windows Identrus initiative

Unisys has selected Kyberpass to provide critical components for its Trusted Community Solution, a joint initiative with Baltimore and Microsoft to develop turnkey Identrus-enabled technology for the Windows-2000 Datacenter Server.

The package is designed to enable financial institutions to rapidly create a secure environment for high-value transactions on the Windows 2000 server family — at a fraction of the cost of packages available today.

Sunil Misra, managing principal, Unisys worldwide enterprise security practice, says: "The ease of installation and deployment of Kyberpass will help us to implement an Identrus infrastructure for a financial institution on the Windows 2000 platform in under 60 days."

Identrus is a bank-backed venture to build a global network for authenticating corporates transacting over the Internet.

The Trusted Community Solution was flagged in May and operates on Microsoft Windows 2000 Datacenter Server and includes Baltimore's UniCERT PKI security system. Unisys provides the applications, systems integration, project management, and consulting services necessary for implementation.

Kyberpass will be providing its Transaction Coordinator, OCSP Responder, and Trust Services Gateway components to the initiative.
