Ditmore recently left his position as chief information officer of online broker Ameritrade as the company overhauled its business to combat the slump in retail investing. Bank One is similarly going through a major rethink of its diverse operating businesses and technology capabilities. The US bank recently announced plans to close its Internet-only subsidiary WingspanBank.com in a move designed to cut costs and streamline its technical infrastructure.

In his new position, Ditmore is charged with overseeing service levels for systems availability and operations and defining the company's technology infrastructure architecture and standards. In addition, he will be responsible for network, enterprise computing (data centre) and desktop/mobile platforms.

Before his stint at Ameritrade, Ditmore also held positions with Bell Atlantic, USF&G and MCI Corp.

Kelly joins Bank One in a newly created role, with responsibility for major IT supplier negotiations. He will have a particular focus on enterprise-wide agreements with all IT suppliers to ensure that the company receives full value with its corporate IT contracts. Kelly most recently served as the president and chief operating officer of e3mil, an online media, marketing and sales company.
