Bank One names Cleary and Klein to lead Internet integration

Chicago-based Bank One has established an Internet Business Group to consolidate Web-based initiatives across the corporation. The newly-created Group will be led by Michael Cleary and Christopher Klein.

The Internet Business Group will be charged with eliminating costly redundancies, reducing the number of vendors and software applications and accelerating the development and implementation of new capabilities, says the bank.

Cleary, who has headed Bank One's WingspanBank.com, will coordinate all efforts for consumers and smaller businesses. He will initially focus on the Internet channel at bankone.com, firstusa.com, Wingspanbank.com and private client services as Bank One continues to support its existing brands.

Klein, who has been involved in Internet business-to-business initiatives at McKinsey & Co. and the Internet Capital Group, will join Bank One to coordinate all efforts for larger commercial customers. At ICG, he worked with management teams to build a portfolio of e-finance companies including eCredit, Credit Trade and Investor Force.
