Global information, news and technology group Reuters has selected RSA Security's BSafe encryption software to secure the streaming flow of financial information issued by its Internet finance platform.
Specifically, Reuters has licensed the software to secure the communication between its end-users and Reuters' Streaming System (RSS), an application providing real-time, streaming financial content over the Internet.
Peter Reilly, Reuters product director, Internet finance platform, says the company selected RSA Security for its recognised and time-tested security standard and because it provides an optional capability for the RSS online financial platform. "It also helps our customers to securely deploy our products and services over the Internet," he says.
The RSA BSafe line of security software is embedded in Web browsers, wireless devices, commerce servers, e-mail systems and virtual private network products. The software is built to provide implementations of standards such as SSL, SMime, WTLS, IPSec and PKCS.
