Israel's Bank Leumi has contracted with Sagem for the supply of 1.3 million secure EMV-based smart cards, equipped with Dynamic Data Authentification cryptoprocessors.
The EMV DDA cards will be the first of their kind to be issued in the Middle East. They will make their debut in the Israeli market during the first half of 2006.
The DDA technology reinforces the security of bank card payments by guaranteeing the uniqueness of each transaction.
Sagem Orga was founded in 2005 to bundle the smart card expertise of the French company Sagem Défense Sécurité with that of Germany-based Orga Kartensysteme.
