Reserve Bank of Malawi rolls out Sagem fingerprint recognition technology

The Reserve Bank of Malawi is installing a fingerprint recognition system developed by French technology firm, Sagem.
The bank will use Sagem's automated fingerprint identification system for verifying customers that have signed up to a national e-purse scheme.
Some 400 000 biometric cards have already been issued to customers across Malawi.
Sagem says the technology is deal for use in countries with a newly developed banking network.
