The UK's Co-operative Bank has signed a seven year outsourcing contract with Wincor Nixdorf for the end-to-end management of its entire 2400-strong ATM network.
Under terms of the agreement, Wincor will provide cash and settlement operation and transaction processing, including acquiring, routing and authorisation, along with ATM helpdesk and maintenance services. The vendor will also manage all future ATM technology development for the bank.
Wincor says the phased migration will begin with the helpdesk and maintenance services, with transaction processing expected to move to its own processing platform in the middle of next year. Services will be managed out of the vendor's operation centre in Dartford.
Commenting on the deal, John Ennis, director, banking division, Wincor Nixdorf, UK says: "The addition of the transaction processing element of the service will really provide The Co-operative Bank with a full end-to-end offering and also give Wincor Nixdorf a major step change to the services we can offer."
The bank is Wincor Nixdorf's first customer for transaction processing services worldwide.
