HDFC Bank has joined Euronet Worldwide's shared ATM network in India, bringing the total number of banks using the Cashnet system to 10.

HDFC Bank currently operates the fourth-largest ATM network in India with 1167 ATMs, serving approximately three million cardholders across the country.

The HDFC ATMs are extected to be live on the network by the end of May with the implementation of an online connection between the bank and Euronet's operations centre in Mumbai.

Established in 2003 Cashnet is India's first nationwide shared ATM network switch and was set up by Euronet in partnership with the Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI).

The HDFC cash machines will expand the network to 5000 ATMs, which are located across the country and serve approximately 12.6 million debit and credit cardholders.
