The processing agreement is the vendor's first with a card issuer based in continental Europe.

Under the agreement, TSYS will process ABN Amro's Dutch consumer and commercial credit-card portfolios at its European data centre in Knaresborough, England, which the vendor opened last October.

The accounts will be converted to the TSYS's TS2 multi-currency and EMV-compliant processing system. Conversions are tentatively planned for the first and second quarters of 2005.

TSYS will also provide customer services on behalf of ABN Amro, including application processing, chargebacks and dispute handling, fraud and collections from its operational services centre in Barneveld which it opened earlier this month.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
