ABN Amro will use the vendor's Analysis, Sourcing, Contract Compliance, Contract Workbench and Category Management applications across the enterprise.

Dennis de Jong, senior vice president, ABN Amro, says: "We must ensure that our sourcing process is fully integrated to achieve contract compliance and to accelerate bottom line results on a global level."

De Jong says the Ariba applications integrate seamlessly with back office functions, ensuring that negotiated contracts are utilised.

Ariba says the bank expects to generate significant additional cost savings through sourcing a broad range of commodities.

Steve Muddiman, vice president of Emea marketing, Ariba, adds: "ABN Amro recognises the importance of a fully integrated spend management system - where suppliers are strategically sourced and negotiated contracts fulfilled - as a way to achieve enterprise-wide savings."
