ABN Amro has begun issuing mc2 chip and PIN payment cards to its credit card customers in the Netherlands.
The Dutch bank began issuing its new look 'curved' smartcards this month and expects all credit card customers to have a chip and PIN card by mid-May.
The bank claims to be the first in the Netherlands to begin issuing EMV standard cards, which require cardholders to verify purchases by keying in a four-digit PIN rather than signing a receipt.
