Fortis Bank has contracted with Netherlands-based Allshare for the supply and implementation of Geac's performance management software, MPC.
MPC includes modules for planning, budgeting, forecasting, consolidation, reporting, analysis and strategy management.
Canada-based Geac says its software, which will run on a Microsoft SQL Server - will initially be used to support Fortis' target setting processes.
Alexander Carp, director of process management at Fortis, says the software will be used to develop budgeting processes, which have been primarily spreadsheet-based.
"Our initial focus is to have a new global budgeting solution in place, which can support 1000 worldwide users...implementing Geac Performance Management helps Fortis to move towards a more uniform global approach which allows for big improvements in quality, speed and transparency," says Carp.
Allshare - GEAC's local partner in the Netherlands - will provide the bank with the software along with deployment services. The first phase of implementation is scheduled to go live in mid August 2004.
Fortis also uses Geac's enterprise resource planning software, SmartStream.
