Misys Risk Management expands global team

Misys Risk Management Systems has appointed Savita Verma as head of product management, financial engineering, and research and has hired Frank Weyns, Lutz Schiermeyer and Ran Fuchs as global business development managers.

Verma is a former vice president of ScotiaBank. Her team at Misys, which includes newly appointed Basel II specialist David Welton, will drive the development of the vendor's Risk Vision package.

Misys has also recruited Frank Weyns, Lutz Schiermeyer and Ran Fuchs as business development managers.

Weyns joins Misys from State Street, where he was global managing director of professional services for the Askari Risk Technology group. Prior to this, he worked for Algorithmics and Deloitte & Touche Consulting. At Misys Risk Management, he joins chief operating officer, Michel Van Leeuwen's team.

Schiermeyer was previously alliances director at SeeBeyond Technology Corporation. Prior to this he worked within General Electric's RXM unit. In his new role, Schiermeyer will focus on new business in Central and Eastern Europe.

Fuchs was also previously at State Street and has also held roles at CCF and JPMorgan. He will head Misys Risk Management's Asia Pacific operations, based in Singapore.

The new appointments come six months after the restructuring of Misys Banking and Securities Division, which saw the Risk Management Systems operation formed as a business unit in its own right.
