Tim Jones' pension plan

The UK Government has announced the appointment of Tim Jones as chief executive of the Personal Accounts Delivery Authority

Jones, a former chief executive of retail banking at NatWest and the man behind the Mondex e-cash scheme, will be charged with setting up a trust-based occupational scheme by 2012.

The last we heard, Jones had just taken up the role of co-director of the Centre for the Study of Financial Innovation.

(Before you ask, it was a NatWest Achievers Awards ceremony over a couple of days one freezing January back in the 90's. Tim was in his role as Retail Chief Exec whilst I was heading up a successful Relationship Banking team. He threw off his CEO mantle for the 'fun' day and toured the park with my crew). Got to know something of the man behind the name, and have to say I have a lot of time and respect for him. He'll do a good job.
