There’s good news and there’s bad news. The good news is that at current rates of progress, in the future women will be earning the same amount as men. The bad news is that none of us will reap the benefits as it will take 187 years (and even longer than that for women in the IT sector and for women in Scotland!) According to the Chartered Management Institute the average UK woman in management earned almost £14,000 less than their male counterparts in the 12 months to March. We all know that predictions can be wrong so let’s hope this one is – with all the legislation in place now there’s really no excuse.
