Kenya Commercial Bank, an established customer of CR2 since 1997, has in the past month extended its use of the Dublin-based vendor's software, switching over an additional 19 ATM Client Hawk licences and 1000 Sparrow POS terminal licenses, and installing CR2's CardWorld Producer and ATM Visa Acquirer Module.

As a result the KCB's ATM network will be able to accept Visa credit and debit cards from any bank. It also has the added capability of the in-house production of its own branded debit card.

Additionally, the bank's expansion programme for its KCB Quickserve ATM network calls for an increase in the number of cash machines from 36 to 55 this year, each of which will employ CR2's ATM software.

CR2 has also acquired a new customer in Kenya through a deal signed in early June with Commercial Bank of Africa in alliance with local partner, Financial Systems.

Under the terms of the agreement, Commercial Bank of Africa has selected CR2's ATM sparrow controller system, which will operate alongside the new XFS software, BankWorld ATM Client, and will interface to the bank's host system, MicroBanker.

In total, CR2 now claims eight customers in Kenya operating its channel software applications.
