Barclays has signed a two-year global deal with Reuters for the provision of product upgrades, implementation and training.
The deal means the two companies will work together on projects to deploy new or additional products for the UK banking group. In particular, Barclays has agreed to upgrade all Reuters users to the latest version of Reuters 3000 Xtra, which will include Reuters Messaging.
In addition, Barclays will implement a training programme for new staff members to help maximise the benefits of using Reuters products.
John Alcantara, managing director of focus group accounts at Reuters for Europe, comments: "The two-year deal to work with Barclays is good for both companies. It will give us the opportunity to come up with the right mix for Barclays, using Reuters segmented approach to its business to supply quality products for differing needs at a competitive price."
