Munich-based Bayerische Hypo-und Vereinsbank (HVB) has gone live with SunGard Trading and Risk Systems' Monis Convertibles Analyzer at its Corporates & Markets division to support its expansion into global convertible bonds trading.
The Monis Convertible Analyzer is a specialised front and middle-office system for the analysis, trading, portfolio and risk management of equity-linked securities, including convertible bonds and the instruments needed to hedge them.
The package operates from a server based at the firm's London office and allows HVB Corporates & Markets to price and analyse its convertible bond positions from any desk across its businesses in both London and Munich.
Sungard says users share the same static and live data and can maintain watch-lists, build specific queries, price multiple instruments, conduct sensitivity analyses under different scenarios, try out hedges, capture trades, manage multiple portfolios and run canned or customised reports.
Inderjit Bedi, global convertible distribution, HVB Corporates & Markets, London, says Monis also allows the firm to add its own expertise to the customisable database and trade complex strategies.
