Pen signs with NCR for ATM services

UK ATM deployer Pen has signed a managed services contract worth $1.6 million with NCR to support its recent purchase of the vendor's self-fill EasyPoint 53 cash machines.

Pen recently signed a multi-million pound deal with NCR for the supply of the EasyPoint 53 convenience ATMs, which are being rolled out to shops, pubs and clubs throughout the UK. The services will branded 'The Banking Standard'.

The new contract is for 2003 and is part of a three year agreement that includes installation, merchant training, on-site support and a specifically-designed help desk.

Roger Bracken, NCR's vice president for services sales, Emea, says of the contract: "Pen will benefit from a single supplier accountability for all aspects of ATM operations; from installation through to ongoing service and merchant support."

Pen, which also provides mobile phone top-up services, entered the convenience ATM market last year.
