The range of value-added services, which together form an online house clinic, includes interior styling advice from an online house doctor, tips on house buying from the Which? Guide to Moving House and a section devoted to neighbourhood information sorted by postcode. The revamped site also includes a mortgage calculator and jargon-buster.

Richard Johnson, head of digital banking at the Royal Bank says the increase in site visits justifies the bank's investment in its online delivery channels.

"The Internet is a key element in our multi-channel strategy to both attract, and deliver, banking and wider financial services to new and existing customers," he says.
