Bob Lamoureux has been appointed vice president of technology strategy for Thomson Financial's Investment Management Group, with a brief to define the next-generation Web services architecture for the division's product line.
The next generation platform will leverage the Web services technology currently being used in the development of the First Call Analyst product line to offer a fully integrated suite of investment management workflow solutions. Other products in the group include I/B/E/S, Datastream, Vestek, Portia, Nelson Information, Baseline, and the Oneva suite.
Lamoureux comes to the job from his former role as chief technology officer at WorldStreet, acquired by Thomson in February. He reports to Jeremy Lehman, senior vice president and head of technology for Thomson's Investment Management Group.
Prior to WorldStreet, Lamoureux was senior vice president overseeing the FIX Transaction Services at Bridge Information Systems. He also claims co-authorship of the FIX protocol during his tenure as director of investment technology at Fidelity Investments in the mid-1990s.
