The Caradas Connexus Payment Client utilises MasterCard's Universal Cardholder Authentication Field (Ucaf) data transport standard to verify the identity of cardholders during online payment transactions.

The software is used in conjunction with a standalone sleeve smart card reader. Cardholders must enter a PIN and a separate 11-digit confirmation number to electronically sign transactions at Ucaf-compliant merchant sites.

Charles Walton, CEO for Caradas, says: "The Caradas Connexus Payment Client provides MasterCard's issuers with a low cost solution that is consumer friendly and provides maximum merchant and consumer protection when MasterCard smart credit or debit cards are used for Internet purchases."
