The solution combines Cicero software from Level 8 and VT-ALL software from IP blue to integrate traders' many applications and systems and to accommodate their extensive communications requirements, including multiple phone lines, voice recording and hoots.

Traders will be able to use intelligent call routing capabilities and application integration functionality within the Cicero desktop interface, as well as automatic dial to significantly reduce transaction time, say the companies.

Ral Arcese, chief operating officer at IP blue, comments: "Until now, the functionality we offer would typically require separate and proprietary systems costing thousands of dollars per desktop. By integrating our solution with Cicero software, we are increasing functionality and portability while driving down costs to make it affordable for companies of all sizes."

He says the combined solution enables companies to deliver up to 250 phone lines (Private Lines, Hoot 'n Holler Lines and DID's) to a single computer with compression algorithms that bring higher quality sound and speed to convergent technologies.

The move pits the newcomers against market leaders Syntegra and IPC in a rapidly consolidating market.
