Users of the new system will be able to access real-time financial news, technical analysis and market information from the divine enterprise content centre through a single search and sign-on function.

Steve Duckworth, head of investment banking IT at Barclays Capital, says: "The divine solution allows the CRM system to deliver external client information in a manner that can be readily aligned with internal information utilising highly cost-effective delivery channels compared with real-time market news services."

Barclays Capital plans to roll out the new system by the end of the first quarter of 2002 to 1500 users.
