UK-based market data streaming technology vendor Caplin Systems has appointed Karen Young to the newly-created position of European sales and marketing director.
Young will be responsible for driving sales of the company's RTTP protocol for streaming market data throughout Europe.
She joins Caplin from Communicating Ltd, a company promoting trading systems to the exchange and investment banking community, where she was COO and executive director of the board. Prior to this, Young was chief executive at ICV, the equity trading business unit of Thomson Financial.
The vendor has also recruited Richard Burtsal as sales manager for the UK, and David Austin-White as sales executive, both of whom will form part of Young's team.
Burtsal joins the company from Thomson Financial (Primark/Datastream/ICV) where was associate director. He also worked for The London Stock Exchange. Austin-White previously worked for Storage Networks and Veritas Software.
