UK-based Web technology vendor Caplin Systems has appointed Nigel Glen as chief executive officer of its US operations, based in New York.

Glen joined the company in 1999 as global director of sales and marketing and was responsible for establishing Caplin's US outfit. Since he joined staff numbers have increased by 500 per cent and turnover by nearly 2000 per cent.

Previously Glen worked at the International Petroleum Exchange (IPE) as vice president for market services.

The company has also announced the hire of Stephen Buck as senior sales executive in the US office. He previously worked for Standard & Poor's Comstock.
