Trading technology vendor Tamesis has appointed HSBC executive Robert Benson to the company's board of directors.

At Tamesis, Benson will work with the executive directors and senior management of the company to guide current operations and product development.

Benson joins Tamesis from HSBC Bank where he was head of the specialised derivatives group and was involved in setting up an equity derivatives trading operation. During his 13-year tenure, he was also responsible for global FX options with teams in London, NY and Tokyo and was head of the retail product group.
