Amicus Financial, the Internet-only bank established by Canadian Imperial bank of Commerce and Sympatico-Lycos, is to give away $100,000 in cash prizes in a bid to lure customers to its site.

Amicus Financial's $100,000 Free Money Contest will award daily prizes averaging $365 in addition to eight $10,000 weekly cash rewards, for the two months the contest is being run. Participants must fill out an online registration form to be automatically entered for the the 56 daily draws that start 13 August and end 7 October. By opening an Amicus Financial Savings or Chequing Account a contestant instantly becomes eligible for the $10,000 weekly draws.

Established in April, Amicus Financial claims 650,000 customers and says it is acquiring 30,000 new accounts a month.
