Wells Fargo adopts wireless platform

Wells Fargo is launching a range of internal and external wireless solutions across its business divisions.

The financial services company wants to make its services available to users at anytime, on any device. It will be using 724 Solutions' Wireless Internet Platform to deliver the services.

The 724 platform will complement the bank's existing wired delivery channel by connecting Wells Fargo's applications and delivery services to a wide variety of wireless devices, including digital mobile phones, personal digital assistants and pagers.

Becky Wanta, executive vice president, wireless business technology, Wells Fargo Services Company, says: "The focus of our Any To Any strategy is on making sure all of our services and applications are available to our customers over any device they choose to work on, and extends to our employees who need convenient access to time-critical information."

The bank plans to use the wireless channel to raise profitability and improve customer relations.

Wells Fargo currently uses 724 Solutions' financial services applications and infrastructure for its wireless banking service, Wells Wireless.
