UK high street bank, Abbey National is to offer its customers 24/7 unmetered Internet access as a result of a co-branded partnership deal with BTinternet, BTopenworld's narrowband portal.

BTinternet's Anytime service will provide Abbey National customers with access to the Internet 24 hours a day, seven days a week for £14.99 per month (including VAT) with no additional Internet charges, providing they have a BT line.

A co-branded Web site features a hotspot which highlights Abbey National's latest offers and new products as well as a direct link to the bank's online banking service. Abbey customers will also be able to tap into the full range of BTinternet content, including news, sports, shopping and travel.

Ambrose McGinn, Abbey National's director of retail e-commerce and strategic development says: "Staying ahead of the pack by providing easy access has been a priority at Abbey National. Our customers want fast, reliable access to make online banking simple to use."

Recent research by Abbey National found that almost half of all UK adults would like to be able to do their banking 24/7.
