Syntegra bags prestige Commerzbank dealing contract

The investment banking arm of Commerzbank has selected Syntegra’s latest ITS voice trading technology for its new flagship trading and service centre in Frankfurt - The HDLZ Project or "Handelsdienstleistungszentrum".

The new 500-position dealing floor will accommodate the bank's existing treasury, bonds and securities trading operations which are currently spread across the city. The treasury division will move into the new trading centre in August with bonds and securities following shortly afterwards.

The new HDLZ will be at the heart of "Bank City", the ambitious German project to reinforce Frankfurt’s position as a major hub of European finance. HDLZ is described as a "horizontal skyscraper", and the 4000 square-metre trading floor is the largest single open office space in Europe.

Harald Zeddies, senior vice president, Commerzbank, says the latest ITS platform - Release 13 - adds significant new features, such as improved business continuity, remote management, system networking and wide ranging CTI capability.

"It was the combination of system features, local service capability and a long standing relationship, based on mutual trust, which won the business for Syntegra. The Frankfurt installation will be the global standard for rollout to other Commerzbank trading locations around the world," says Zeddies.

Syntegra’s customisable pV405i turrets and displat speakers will be installed across the new trading room. Traders will have access to full CTI functionality, allowing them to link Microsoft Outlook and other PC-based applications to the voice trading platform.

The bank is also understood to be looking at Syntegra's ITS Myriad multi-channel integration framework, which links clients, colleagues and trading partner to create a collaborative trading environment.

Syntegra is additionally acting as prime contractor for a number of HLDZ voice-based application installations. These include Thales Contact Solutions’ latest Renaissance digital voice recording architecture and Speakerbus’ audio intercom systems. Call management comes from CTI Data Solutions’ Proteus Trader application, which provides distribution and allocation of various call costs around the business units.

Syntegra has also been contracted to provide on-site maintenance for all solution components.
