Online payments firm PayPal is adding 150 new positions at its European operations and customer service headquarters in Dublin.
The eBay unit says the roles will support its fast growing European business, which achieved $1 billion in revenues for the first time in 2010.
The company set up its Dublin operation centre in 2003 and has since increased staff numbers from just 25 to more than 1200.
Separately, a glitch briefly saw payments via the API and paypal.com unavailable this morning for most customers.
The problem hit at 08.11 GMT and although mostly resolved by 09.23, some international sites, including the UK one, were not up and running until 10.00.
