Payments vendor VeriFone made the wireless debit card transaction using its Vx 670 GPRS terminal during a fundraising climb organised by Lloyd's TSB Cardnet to benefit SportsAid.

A group of 30 climbers from Cardnet and various vendors and suppliers raised over £5000 for the charity, which focuses on providing grants to youngsters from 50 able-bodied and 25 disability sports.
