Finextra backed a winner in the 7th Annual City Ski Run, which took place in Davos, Switzerland this weekend, as over 80 competitors from the City of London took part in three days of competition and fun events, raising £20,000 for charity in the process.
The Finextra sponsored team (pictured) of Douglas Cairns of Schroders, Hannah Stollery and Jim Garland of Liffe scooped the overall Competition Silver Cup, collecting the top slalom, top giant slalom and top male (Douglas) on the way. Other winners and runners up included individuals and teams from UBS Warburg, Bloomberg, DrKW, Radianz, Amerex, Big Giraffe and Morgan Stanley.
Evening activities included a sleigh ride up a snow covered valley, along with Gleuwein, Fondue, and a cabaret of yodelling, alpenhorn music and coin spinning music (has to be seen to be believed).
In addition to the ski weekend, The City Ski Run also organises an annual dinner, at one of the City’s Livery Halls. Including the proceeds from this year’s event, in excess of £200,000 has been raised for the benefit of the British Ski Club for the Disabled and The Calvert Trust.
