The deal covers the provision of hardware and software, as well as the development, operation and maintenance of the decentralised IT infrastructure at BEC's 73 member banks.

The contract covers around 10,000 work places and 400 servers distributed across more than 400 locations in Denmark and Greenland and will last for five years and eight months.

Commenting on the deal, Topnordic director Jan Elbæk says: "By choosing Topnordic as their supplier, BEC is ensuring that a large share of Danish banks and a number of financial institutions are utilising the best technology tools."

Topnordic says the new contract is an extension of an existing deal with BEC which has already resulted in "a number of standardised infrastructure solutions".
