Norwegian bank DnB Nor - which was created by merger of Den norske Bank (DnB) and Gjensidige Nor - has signed a contract with Ementor for IT consultancy services.
Under the new agreement, Ementor will be working on the bank's integration projects.
Ementor has previously supplied services to Den norske Bank, including the implementation of the BankID authentication system.
The merged bank recently halted plans to implement a core banking system supplied by Norwegian IT services firm TietoEnator. The vendor had agreed the deal with Gjensidige Nor but the project was put on hold following the bank's merger with DnB.
However the bank has recently extended outsourcing contracts with Norwegian firm EDB Business Partner - which was one of DnB Nor's established IT services suppliers prior to the merger with Gjensidige Nor.
Commenting on the new contract with Ementor, Terje Nilsen, director, IT development, DnB NOR Bank, says: "After the merger, DnB NOR has made an evaluation of all its IT service suppliers...During the last years, we have developed a close and good cooperation with Ementor. By entering into this principal frame agreement, we express our wish to continue and develop this cooperation."
