Deutsche Postbank says it expects to win a major contract for its outsourced payments settlement services in the middle of next year, according to a report by Financial Times Deutschland.
Management board member Dirk Berensmann told FT Deutschland that negotiations were on-going with a number of state-owned and private banks to use Postbank's payments processing services.
He says Postbank is also aiming to expand its European operations in the next two to three years.
Postbank acquired Deutsche Bank's and Dresdner Bank's payments processing businesses in May last year.
The bank has also implemented a SAP-based back office system which will allow it to offer payment processing and administrative services to other banks.
