Hansabank and TietoEnator establish outsourcing joint venture

Hansabank is to outsource the management of desktop PCs, ATMs, and point-of-sale machines in Estonia to a joint venture company established in collaboration with TietoEnator.

The new company, TietoEnator Support, will be 60% owned by the vendor and will employ 24 people from Hansabank's current on-site services staff and 4 people from TietoEnator Eesti. Pekka Orenius from TietoEnator has been nominated as acting CEO.

Hansbank chief information officer Olli Heinonen, says it is expected that the joint venture will also take over on-site support for the banks activities in Latvia and Lithuania.

TietoEnator VP Leo Höykinpuro says the JV improves the vendor's strategic positioning in the Baltics: "We are now able to offer larger service provisioning in Estonia and in the whole Baltic area."
