Samba licences Level Four ATM testing software

UK-based Level Four Software has signed Samba Financial Group (Samba), the largest publicly traded bank in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to its ATM Channel Development Suite.

Samba is Level Four's second customer in the Middle East, but the first to license all the ATM testing components within the vendor's product suite.

The tools, notably EMV FastTrack, will help Samba migrate its multi-vendor ATM network to EMV standards on the local Saudi Payments Network, Span2. The system enables the creation of EMV compatible ATM downloads and full end-to-end transaction testing directly from the chip card, through the ATM and up to the host system.

The vendor's Network Stress Tester module will also ensure thorough testing of the bank's migration to EMV. The application will be used to make sure the bank's 250 ATMs can can cope with peaks in transaction volumes.

Level Four says the group can also use its software to customise ATM screens, develop new applications and undertake full testing of its multi-vendor ATM network.

Derek Sham, assistant general manager, Samba technology, comments: "Our customers will benefit from a smooth migration to EMV smart cards, and more importantly, faster deployment of new functionality at ATMs."
