Diebold has completed the initial phase of the contract for the supply of the ATMs. The new units, which replace a number of different terminals, include EPP4 encrypting PIN Pads for Triple DES security and feature larger colour screens.

Terry Wasmund, manager, payments and banking services, Suncorp, says the bank has already received positive feedback from customers for the new machines: "Since the first machines went live - and especially during the busy Christmas season - we have been very pleased with the statistics on their reliability, performance, speed and security."

Under the terms of the contract, Diebold will also service the bank's entire ATM fleet for at least the next three years. Diebold has serviced Suncorp's ATMs, including machines from several different manufacturers, for more than four years under a subcontracting arrangement. The new project sees the vendor providing services directly to Suncorp, with a network of technicians on-call across Queensland and New South Wales to ensure availability.
