Diebold names Eric Evans president and COO

Diebold has appointed Eric Evans as president and chief operating officer. He replaces Wesley Vance who died in a plane crash last April.

Evans joins the company from industrial technology and engineering giant Emerson where he was group vice president for the climate technologies air conditioning unit.

During his career at Emerson, Evans held several key executive roles at the company's Copeland division, including chief financial officer and president of Copeland air conditioning.

Prior to this, he was founder and president of Evans Company, a management consulting practice specialising in international business strategy. Before this Evans worked at management consultant firm Bain and Company.

In his new role, Evans will be responsible for Diebold's global operations in financial self-service and security, including all related functions in sales, service and manufacturing.
