Prudential selects BEA WebLogic for call centre system

UK insurance group Prudential is installing BEA Systems' WebLogic Server and WebLogic Portal to support its call centre application, 4Front.
Approximately 800 customer services staff, based throughout the UK and India, will use the 4Front application to access customer data and product information.
The WebLogic technology will provide call centre staff with a single view of the customer and their associated product holdings. BEA says the platform can can handle 80% of current call centre transactions.
Jeremy Gray, head of IT architecture, Prudential, says: "The decision to select BEA WebLogic over other technologies was based upon a number of reasons, not the least of which is the good fit with existing resources and technologies already in use at Prudential."
