Prebon Yamane rolls out broking STP system on BEA WebLogic Platform

Institutional brokerage Prebon Yamane is using BEA Systems' WebLogic Platform to develop and support its new global broking STP system.

Prebon Yamane's Global Broking System is already operational at the firm's London and New York offices and will be rolled out worldwide to a further 20 sites.

The system is designed to automate in excess of 5000 daily trades and support real-time transactions. The application also improves efficiency in the back office and allows the firm to to share information across the organisation.

Geoffrey Sanderson, chief executive officer, Prebon technology group, says: "The BEA WebLogic Platform will support the 'hub and spoke' communications model to deliver straight-through processing, and gives us the flexibility, robustness and scalability to restructure the way we work both within the organisation and with customers."

As part of the platform, the BEA WebLogic Server combines with Persistence Software's EdgeXtend caching software and Oracle databases to provide users worldwide with fast, simultaneous access to information though the synchronisation of cached object data across geographically dispersed servers.
